Transportation & Schedule

Getting to and from camp

Arrival: Campers can either be dropped off to the event by their parent/guardian or take one of our buses. Campers should arrive by 5:30 pm on Friday.

 

Bus Location 1: Temple B’nai Torah, Bellevue 
15727 NE 4th St, Bellevue, WA 98008
Bus will arrive at 3:00pm, we will depart promptly at 3:15pm.
 

Bus Location 2: Temple Beth Am, Seattle
2632 NE 80th St, Seattle, WA 98115
Bus will be coming from Bellevue, please plan to arrive at 3:30pm for a planned 4:00pm.

 
 
Departure: Campers must be picked up from Camp Kalsman for departure, buses will not be provided. Families should plan to arrive at camp by 3:30pm on Saturday for tours, family activities, dinner and havdalah.
Friday - March 15, 2024

3:00 pm – Camper Check-In at Bellevue Bus Stop & 3:30 pm at Seattle Bus Stop

4:00 pm – Buses Depart for Camp Kalsman!

5:30 pm – Campers Arrive + Welcome mixers and activities!

If you wish to drive your camper(s) to Taste of Kalsman, please arrive by 5:30 pm.

6:00 pm – Dinner

6:30 pm – Shira (Song Session)

7:00 pm – More Mixers!

7:30 pm – Camp Fire Singing/Story + S’mores

8:15 pm – Siyum (Closing Circle)

If your camper takes evening medications, this is when they will be distributed.

8:45 pm – Laila Tov (Lights Out)

Saturday - March 16, 2024

7:30 am – Boker Tov (Good Morning!)

8:00 am – Breakfast

8:30 am – Morning Shira

8:45 am – Shabbat Rotations

Enjoy challah making, decorating challah covers, and more!

10:00 am – Scavenger Hunt

11:00 am – Arts, Sports, and Chavaya (experience) Rotation 1

12:00 pm – Lunch

12:30 pm – Arts, Sports, and Chavaya (experience) Rotation 2

1:30 pm – Arts, Sports, and Chavaya (experience) Rotation 3

2:30 pm – Packing Time

3:30 pm – Parent Arrival

Interested in taking a tour? Parents are invited to arrive at 2:45 to take a tour of our beautiful site before starting our Family Program. 

4:00 pm – Family Activity

Families are encouraged to join our Taste of Kalsman campers for a fun activity to finish out the weekend!

5:30 pm – Dinner and Havdalah

6:30 pm – Families Depart

Campers must be picked up by their guardian by 6:30 pm. Buses will NOT be provided for departure from Taste of Kalsman.

A little bit about Taste of Kalsman

We are very excited to share with you that registration for Taste of Kalsman 2024 is OPEN! Taste of Kalsman is a 2 day, 1 night retreat for current 1st through 4th graders to experience what Camp Kalsman has to offer. Please feel free to share this event with friends and family who might have an interested camper! First-time & prospective campers welcome!Taste of Kalsman campers will live in our comfortable cabins with our all-star staff. Staff will accompany campers as they create masterpieces in arts and crafts, sample our sports activities, and celebrate a camp Shabbat.The program will begin as campers board buses with our staff members to travel up to camp Friday afternoon. We’ll enjoy celebrating Shabbat together, take a tour of camp, meet new friends and settle in for the night. Saturday will be packed with fun programs and we invite Taste of Kalsman camper families to join us Saturday late afternoon for a family program, dinner, and havdallah before we say goodbye!The retreat cost is $175 per camper, which covers transportation from the Seattle and Bellevue areas TO CAMP* and all meals and programs throughout the weekend, plus a Taste of Kalsman t-shirt! (*Transportation is provided TO CAMP only. Parents must pick children up from camp on Saturday). Families are welcome to drop campers off at camp Friday, as well.
