David is an avid scuba diver and loves to travel. David spent his first summer at camp when he was just 6 years old and hasn’t looked back since!

Max grew up in the Chicago suburbs, and as a member of North Shore Congregation Israel, developed his passion for Judaism. He attended Indiana University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, and worked in Chicago Public Schools while completing his teacher certification. Heidi has lived in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years and has been with the URJ since 2005, starting as the registrar for Camp Atid, Camp Kalsman’s predecessor. Hi Everyone! My name is Terra and I am the full-time Communications and Development Associate for URJ Camp Kalsman. These events create safe spaces for teens throughout the region to learn, continue to grow as leaders and as young Jews, and establish a community of their peers. This will be Abbey’s 6th summer at Kalsman! As a former art specialist, Abbey can’t wait to get into the brand new Art Center and start creating magic!

While I am not busy with classes, my research lab, or my internship with UW Hillel, I spend my free time hiking, running, playing guitar, and baking yummy food with my friends! My favorite time at camp is Shabbat and my favorite thing to do on camp is canoe on the lake… so if you ever need another member for your boat, come find me!! Counting down the days until I get to meet you all and so excited for a fun summer! See you soon 🙂

Nemmie Stieha, Unit Head
Hi! I’m so excited to be returning to Kalsman for my second summer, this year as the Coogarim, Goorim, and Bonim unit head! I currently live in Boise, Idaho where I spend my days as the Music Educator and Millennial Outreach Coordinator for Congregation Ahavath Beth Israel. My original home is from Kentucky though, so my favorite shade of blue is a little more “wildcat” than “bronco”! When I’m not playing music and creating events for Jewish Adults I’m cooking, teaching dance lessons, learning how to play the dulcimer, or finding new hiking trails! Can’t wait to welcome you all home on opening day!
