Kallah Bet - Week 1
Each summer we tell parents that “no news is good news!” While we encourage campers to respond to eLetters and send those pre-addressed and stamped letters home, many of us end up with nothing or “Hello mudda, hello fadda, here I am at Camp Granada…”- type sagas. So, we asked our rashim (unit heads) to write some short “letters home” to fill in the blanks and share their reflections!
Dear Coogarim & Nitzotzot Families,
What a wonderful week it’s been with some of our youngest campers. I can’t believe they’re coming to the end of there week here at camp and I’m so excited to experience Shabbat with them this evening before we say good-bye on Sunday. We’ve enjoyed experiencing a variety of different mivcharim (options) each day, getting a taste of all the activities we’ll get to really dive into as we grow older in our camp journeys. In our sivuv rotations we’ve all gotten the chance to paddle on the lake, challenge ourselves on the low ropes initiative course and the climbing tower and care for our camp goats.
Our counselors have been so wonderful helping us to create a sense of community in a short period of time, creating silliness in our “Dress up your Counselor” activity, vulnerability and openness in our morning mifgash gatherings, and creating camp memories at our Bananas in Pajamas campfire and Trashcan Basketball competition in the evening (just to name a few!) While we prepare to say l’hitraot to this sweet campers, we’re already looking forward to next summer when, hopefully, they’ll join us for 2- or 3-weeks!
Shabbat Shalom!
Na’ama, Rosh Coogarim & Nitzotzot

Dear Kochavim Families,
It’s Lia, your Unit Head, checking in on an amazing Week 1 of camp! It’s been so special seeing this group of campers forge strong friendships while having a blast at camp. A highlight this week was definitely Messy Twister – for some of these campers it’s the first time they’ve gotten to do Messy Night and it was an evening to remember! We had a great time at the Israeli Cooking evening program and, continuing with the theme of FOOD, Tacos and Tie-Dye left us full and happy with new tie-dye creations to show off.
Mosaic magic, kazoog, wilderness survival, Israeli Tower Fun and silly sports have been a blast and we can’t wait to see what creative options we’ll have starting on Sunday for our new chugim.
Now it’s time to get ready for our first Shabbat at camp and we can’t wait to show off our Kochavim dance and sing our hearts out during t’filah.
Shabbat Shalom!
Lia, Rosh Kochavim

Dear Tzofim Families,
It’s hard to believe it’s only been a week—so much has already happened! Since your children arrived at camp, we’ve had the joy of connecting, playing, laughing, facing challenges together, discovering new talents, and most importantly—creating a true sense of home. Tzofim have had a blast in their Sivuv (rotations) and Yesod (4-6 day electives) activities experiencing everything from high ropes course, culinary arts with our artist in residence Judy Shupack, volleyball, camp recycling program, improv, guitar and archery. By far the highlight of evening programs was Messy Night and Israeli Cooking night!
The campers are getting to know one another, forming new friendships and deepening connections. They are learning what it means to be part of a group, taking responsibility, showing empathy, and treating one another with respect. We’re not only creating fun and unforgettable memories—we’re also nurturing values, a sense of belonging, and a joyful, meaningful connection to Judaism.
I’m excited to continue this journey with them—and through them, with you as well.
Shabbat Shalom!
Omer, Rosh Tzofim

Shabbat Shalom, Kesher Families!
Our Kesher unit has had an eventful week full of fun and exciting activities. We’ve played kickball, done counselor jeopardy, and even gone back in time for our preschool arts and crafts night. With our new schedule this year, Kesher campers are able to really dig into their miktzoah electives: mosaics, trailblazing and high ropes training. With an hour a day for 3-weeks in these activities, campers will come away from their time at camp having made a real, lasting impact on camp. We’ve also really enjoyed the evening Program Palooza options where we can hangout with friends from Tzofim in activities of our choice. As our first Shabbat rolls around, I am so grateful for the wonderful community we have within our unit, as well as in the greater camp community. Next week we’re looking forward to the Kesher camping trip!
Shabbat Shalom,
Daniel Flash, Rosh Kesher
